Flannel Friday

Just Like Daddy by Frank Asch
We are doing Teddy Bears this week, but I think I will save this one for Mothers' Day. Little Bear does everything just like daddy--puts on his shirt, eats a big bowl of cereal, gives his mom a flower. But there is one thing he does just like mommy.

Another favorite I like to do for Mothers' Day is Ask Mr. Bear by Marjorie Flack. We have a great older version of this Folkmanis two-handed bear that was made for giving big bear hugs.

What are your Mothers' Day storytime favorites?

Five in the Bed
Someone posted something very similar after a facebook discussion, but here is my version. No felt involved--just a receiving blanket, a few straight pins, and some laminated bears I found lying around. I love the challenge of making use of things that have lost their story!

I pin the blanket to the board at he top corners. I fold the bottom edge up so the blanket is in half. Then I fold that bottom edge back down to meet the fold I created. I secure it at the middle fold. Then the bears get tucked in.
