Flannel Friday: The Mouse and the Cupcake

I am celebrating Flannel Friday's birthday one week late with a flannelized version of Little Mouse and the Big Cupcake by Thomas Taylor. I decided to use puppets with the cupcake instead of making felt animals. The kids love it when the puppets actually eat stuff!
Mouse finds a giant cupcake, but it is too big for him carry home.
Various animals enter the scene. Mouse asks for their help, but the cupcake
is too big for any of them to carry. None of them can resist asking for a bite,
and mouse shares with them all.

First to go is the cherry, followed by the blue icing and pretty pink piping.
A group of animals comes along and gobbles up all that appears to remain.

A closer look reveals there is one piece left,
and it's the perfect size for mouse!

Kate at Felt Board Magic is hosting the roundup this week. Happy storytiming!
